Dennis Uniforms

School uniforms must be purchased through Dennis Uniforms.

GENERAL UNIFORM

* Shoes:

  • Color: White, black, white/black combination, navy blue, navy blue and white combination. Minimal color detailing can be white, black, navy or gray/silver. No other color detailing is permitted. Laces must be black, white or navy and tied at all times.
  • Style: Athletic type shoe or dress shoe that lace, strap or have Velcro closures. Shoes must be all leather. NO canvas or all nylon shoes are permitted. Boots, sandals, slip-on style, platform soles, lighted soles, wheeled or backless mule style shoes are NOT permitted.

* Socks

  • Color should be white, navy or black with no logos.
  • Sock length must completely cover the ankle. The ankle must be covered at all times. Inside shoe socks or low sports socks are not permitted.
  • White or navy tights are acceptable for girls.

* Hair and Makeup:

  • Hair must be neat and not over the eyes.
  • Boys’ hair should not touch the collar.
  • NO “fad” hairstyles are permitted. STEP, SPIKED, PONY TAIL styles are not permitted for the boys.
  • Hair may not be dyed, bleached, streaked, highlighted or frosted.
  • Make-up, false nails and nail polish are NOT permitted.
  • Contact lenses cannot be worn to enhance or change eye color.

*Jewelry:

  • One pair of stud earrings for pierced ears is allowed for girls only.
  • Excessive amounts of jewelry and inappropriate jewelry such as, hoops and dangling style earrings are not allowed.
  • No body art is permitted.

* Shorts:

  • Navy twill walking-length shorts (no shorter than 3” above the top of the knee) and fit appropriately. Shorts may be worn throughout the year as an optional uniform.

Outerwear:

* Jackets:

  • Must be solid blue with no logos.
  • Winter jackets ordered through the PTO or Dennis Uniforms are allowed.
  • Girls may wear Navy hooded zip front cardigan sweaters ordered through Dennis Uniforms.
  • Zippered sweatshirt style jackets are not allowed.

* Sweatshirt/Sweatpants:

  • ONLY Our Lady of Lourdes sweats ordered from Dennis Uniform are permitted.
  • Sweatpants can be worn at P.E. on cold days but may not be worn to replace uniform shorts, pants, jumper or skirt during regular school hours (with the exception of Early-Fives, as indicated below).
  • Girls may not wear sweatpants under their uniform when attending school Masses.
  • Early-Fives students may wear sweatpants and sweatshirts (over their polo shirts) as part of their regular classroom uniform.
  • Sweatshirts for participation on Decathlon, Outdoor School, Student Council, or Approved OLL Sports Team are also permitted at the discretion of the Administration.

Girls’ Uniforms

* Skirts and Jumpers:

  • Grades K – 4: Navy blue jumper (no shorter than 3” above the top of the knee) and Navy twill skort (optional for PE).
  • Grades 5 – 8: Navy blue skirt (no shorter than 3” above the top of the knee) and not rolled at the waist.

* Shirts:
All shirts must be worn tucked in. Long sleeved turtlenecks are not acceptable

  • Early-Fives – 6: Dennis Uniform white short sleeve polo style knit shirt with school emblem.
  • Grades 7 – 8: White, light blue, yellow, green, or navy blue short sleeve polo style shirt with no logos. No trim or detailing is allowed on the collar

* Pants and Shorts:

  • Early-Fives through 8th grade: Navy twill walking–length shorts, Navy twill pleat front pants and Navy twill flat front Capri pants.

Boys’ Uniform

* Pants and Shorts:

  • Early-Fives: Navy twill walking-length shorts. Navy twill pants may be worn as an optional uniform.
  • Grades K – 8: Navy twill pants that fit the student appropriately. Baggy or loose fitting pants are not permitted. Pants must be worn at waist. Navy twill walking-length shorts.

* Shirt:

All shirts must be worn tucked in. Long sleeved turtlenecks are not acceptable)

  • Early-Fives – 6: Dennis Uniform light blue short sleeve polo style knit shirt with school emblem.
  • Grades 7 – 8: Light blue, yellow, green, navy blue or white short sleeved polo style knit shirt with no logos.

MASS UNIFORM

  • Girls ( K – 8 ) Uniform Skirts or jumpers. No shorts, skort, pants or sweatpants.
  • Boys ( K – 8 ) Uniform Long pants. No shorts or sweatpants.

P.E. UNIFORM

  • K – 8th: – School uniform shorts, skort or sweatpants
  • School uniform shirts or optional P.E. T-shirt
  • Athletic style flat soled shoe that meets general uniform shoe color guidelines.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS

* Girls ( E-5 – 8 ) – Dress should be appropriate for attending Mass.

  • Pants are not allowed.
  • Dresses and skirts should not be tight fitting or shorter than 3” above the top of the knee.
  • Blouses and tops may not have logos or picture details.
  • No sleeveless or spaghetti strap style dresses or tops are permitted.
  • Shoe style should conform to the general uniform dress code.
  • Boots, sandals, slip-on style, platform soles, lighted soles, wheeled or backless mule style shoes are NOT permitted.
  • Socks, tights, or hose must be worn by grades E 5 – 8.

* Boys ( E-5 – 8 ) – Dress pants that fit appropriately. No baggy or loose fitting styles.

  • Shirts must be collared and have no logos or picture details.
  • Shoe style must conform to the general uniform dress code (socks must be worn).

CASUAL DRESS (Retreat Days)

* Girls & Boys:

  • Collared shirts, dressy T-shirts, tops and blouses (must have sleeves). They may be colored, striped, flowered, printed or patterned.
  • NO writing, logos or pictures are permitted.
  • Pants: Any solid-colored pants or walking length shorts are permitted. NO denim or camouflage.
  • Shoes: Any color tennis shoe is permitted.
  • Socks, tights or hose must be worn.
  • Dresses or skirts are acceptable for girls; however they must not be shorter than 3” above the top of the knee.

* Not permitted for Casual Dress

  • Jeans, short shorts, tank tops, bare midriff, sleeveless tops, any denim, tight fitting or baggy fitting clothes.

JEAN DAY

  • Student should wear his/her regular uniform shirt and shoes with any solid color jean skirt, walking length shorts, or long pants.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

  • Costumes should reflect the joy of the holiday celebration.
  • Costumes should not glorify violence, be offensive or ridicule others.
  • If a costume is judged by the teacher or administrator to be inappropriate, the student will be asked to wear their school uniform.
  • No “blood and guts” type costumes. No severed limbs, heads, etc. or body parts dripping in blood.
  • Witches, skeletons, ghosts, mummies are okay if NOT gory.
  • No real or plastic guns, swords, knives, spears, pitchforks etc.
  • Shoes should be safe and appropriate for the playground and parade route.
  • Costumes should be safe to wear at school.
  • Masks should provide a wide field of vision.
  • Costumes cannot be tight fitting or revealing.

* On Halloween, students must come to school in their uniform.

  • They may change into their costumes just before the parade.
  • Parents may come to assist children in dressing and parents are welcome to join us for the parade. Check time on Edline or teacher communications.
