The Early-Five Program strives to create a developmentally appropriate educational environment, which fosters each child’s physical, emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual growth. The curriculum is a combination of self-directed, as well as teacher guided activities and will encourage children to work individually, as well as in small groups. The Program uses the concept of Learning Centers, which can be designated activity areas within the classroom or simply a particular game or activity that teaches a specific skill or concept.
The Student Council is composed of 10 elected & 3 appointed officers taken from grades seven and eight. The Student Council plans, organizes, and coordinates certain school activities with the approval of their moderator and the principal. Student Council lead the morning salutes to flag and cross, prayers and announcements, they are also responsible for running the student store and ballroom, as well as planning pep rallies, several masses and other activities throughout the year.

“Los Angeles Archdiocese’s Academic Junior High Decathlon is the largest junior high educational competition in Southern California featuring two team events: a rigorous logic quiz along with a super quiz finale that encompasses religion, literature, science, art, and geography. Individuals also face off in religion, math, social studies, science, fine arts, current events, literature, English, grammar and spelling.
The decathlon promotes academic preeminence and educational values at parochial schools, as well as cooperative learning skills, higher-order thinking and teamwork. Moreover, it celebrates the diversity and tradition of California’s Catholic schools both in the inner city as well as the suburbs.”
